Icecream Cones Without The Icecream! Simple Recipe.

This is a simple recipe that one of my friends here gave me after I tried them at her place.

They are tasty, the children love them and most importantly, they are very easy to make.

I didn't take photos for step by step recipe, it is that simple it doesn't need photos and I wasn't sure how they would turn out because it was my first time.

Ingredients:

3 sheets of puff pastry
300ml of thickened cream
150 ml of cold full cream milk
1 packet of instant pudding mix (vanilla or chocolate)
vanilla sugar
icing sugar
and oil spray

You will also need 2 egg yolks and a little bit of water.

You will need to get some sort of metal cone shaped utensils, I bought these especially for cakes.

Step 1

Spray your metal cone sprays with oil spray and let them sit there while you do the rest.

Step 2

Make your cream filling,

Put your cold milk into a bowl, then add your pudding mix and thickened cream and then add a few good shakes of vanilla sugar.

Mix it well until it is all nice and firm, don't overdo it.

& simply put it into the fridge.

Step 3

Lay baking paper into a baking tray/pan

Cut one sheet of puff pastry into 8 stripes. Use anything to cut, I used a pizza cutter.

Wrap the metal cones from the bottom to the top overlapping.

This is what it looks like:

Then when placing them into the tray, make sure the last edge/end is facing down.

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees.

Step 4

Take your egg yolks and a few drops of water with a small shale of vanilla sugar, mix it up.

Baste/brush the cones with this before baking.

Step 5

Bake for around 20 minutes until golden brown and let them cool down.

Take them off the metal cones, you can do this while they are still hot, to save time and prepare the second batch.

Step 6

Fill the cones with your cooled down pudding fill using a piping bag, sprinkle with icing sugar and leave in the fridge overnight.

Make sure to put a padlock on the fridge.

Because when the children see this they will try and raid the fridge, 100% guaranteed.

Simple, tasty and when served they last for seconds, almost like a magic trick "now you see them, now you don't".

Thank you for reading, hope you try this, they are very, very delicious.
