The Kahuna Poke Soft Launch

I ain't no famous blogger or an influencer when it comes to social media. But my friend @notimetospace is pretty much more well known in the instagram, youtube and some food videos you see on Facebook. Tonight was just a night i 'piggyback' her fame to get free food from this new place called Kahuna Poke. @notimetospace is a travel and life blogger on Steemit too but hasn't been really active, though she did say she will return. I'm still waiting for that day.

When I got there, I saw another very familiar Steemit face, @pinstory who is no longer active due to many of her freelance and work jobs she has got going. Because she is close friends with @stevengoh (the friend who invited us to this soft launch), you will always catch her around whenever @stevengoh is around. These are a few of my early Steemit friends from my early days on Steemit. This just brings back many nostalgic moments.

@notimetospace and I arrived half an hour early when the doors just open. It was a good time to snap more photos before the crowd of other influencers rushed in. I was greeted with a nice simple interior decorated like the ocean and because the main dish is 'flipper based', Salmon, Tuna and Seafood, the logo had a little fishy on it.

If you've been following my food blogs and mostly on instagram, you would probably seen me snapping many food dishes and one in particular, Chimi Churri where you mix and match ingredients of your choice. Apparently, it is a budding trend here in Malaysia and many people are starting to accustom to 'creating your own meal' concept. Kahuna Poke is no different. The only difference was that there were no chicken, beef or lamb. Just fishies and seafood.

My meal for the night was Salmon based with Kahuna Nori Rice with sides, walnut, onion, seaweed salad and salmon skin crisp. I went with the sriracha aioli which tastes like light mayonnaise as flavouring for my salmon and since the toppings section says choose any, @notimetospace and I went full on greedy Asian mode. Tick as many as you can.

Well, the meal wasn't little for me. The portion was quite huge and I couldn't finish my poke bowl. I did love how it tasted and the flavours from all the ingredients didn't take away from each other. It blended perfectly into a hearty healthy meal. I would definitely come back to try how the other ingredients worked for each other next time. But for now, let me dig in into my lovely meal.

Here is @notimetospace and her food shot. She likes pineapples mixed in her meal... which brings me to this question. Do you guys like pineapples on pizzas or no?

This is my meal! Can't wait to dig in and oh, thanks to @stevengoh and @notimetospace for inviting me to this event. I get more coupons for more free meals the next time I dine here again. Feeling the gist of an influencer, gosh and to think that those famous ones get free things for life!

Ending the night with a final photo with the awesome @pinstory. It's unfortunate she stopped posting on Steemit due to all her work. She was the one that drew my post footer for Steemit and you can see it on all my post.

Anyhoo, I'm going to call it a night, I'm glad today is Friday and I can actually take a full rest tomorrow! I can't wait for the upcoming Teh Tarik Sundays this week as well. We would be talking about MONEY. I mean, who doesn't like money ey? You can watch the live stream on my profile on Sunday night, 10pm (GMT +8).
