except God. and the ten commandments are in no way grievous. nor are they 'religious instruction' but a fine code for everyone to live by.
you didn't really answer my question - would there be any crime or suffering if everyone followed them (voluntarily of course) ?
Voluntarily, absolutely not.
i rest my case. God is righteous, and knows what He 's doing, even if 99% of those who claim to speak for Him are clueless hypocrites. peace.
