Preparing for financial freedom...what I must do

in #freedom7 years ago

It's July and the pressure is on. As you may already know, I am on a journey to financial freedom and plan on quitting my job in January.

I MUST be debt free

If I've done my calculations correct, I can pay off my current loan by December. That's $138 per week for 26 weeks. I got braces last year August, (I needed them like you need air to breathe, lol seriously tho my teeth were jacked up) which I pay $156 monthly for. I prefer to keep those payments as is, no rush to pay them off until the job is done.

My other monthly expense would be rent, electricity, internet, cell phone bill and basic necessaries like food, personal care and car gas.

I MUST eliminate ALL unnecessary spending and reduce monthly bills

I am the cheapest person I know, this should be easy. Luckily for me, my only wasteful spending habit was buying weed. If you follow me, you already no I kicked that habit last week. I am confident moving forward, smoking won't be an issue, I am focus and wasted enough time bullshitting - eyes on the prize.

My girlfriend and I just moved into a smaller apartment, two weeks ago, cha ching EXTRA SAVINGS. We split the rent, I take care of the light bill and she will handle the internet bill. I am curious to see how much the electricity bill will be this month. I live in the Bahamas and the climate is scotching hot this time of year, electricity cost is here high and we have been using the air-conditioner. I am guesstimating $180 max per month, this summer. Once I get the bill this month, I can plan accordingly and make any necessary adjustments to keep it as low as possible.

I'll get an app that can help me keep track of my savings and expenses to make it easier. Any suggestions?

My only focus is to remain focus.

Follow my journey

Stay consistent and persistent ;) You have a new follower! I always make it a point to go through my list of followers and follow new fans. I also go to their blog and find an original post to comment on and resteem, see who I'm following and kind of introduce myself. I also am curious where you found me, as I would like to continue to grow and am keeping track of what's working and what isn't. I await your reply!

Thank you for your words of advice. It was a rough week for me but like you said stay consistent and persistent. I found you through a comment on fellow steemer post. Glad you even notice I followed :)

I try to go through my followers once every couple of days and see what's out there. Get to know people. Maybe they need a nudge or have some insight or a good recipe for some jerky lol, just never know what's out there. And you're most welcome :)

I see you resteemed my post! Thanks man! I will return the love. I'll be needing a nudge for sure, from my cryptocurrency freak buddy :) still learning how this cryptocurrency works.

Ha ha! Ok, Stay tuned, most of what I post about is on cryptocurrent info. Are you on Facebook at all? Have a project going on over there to further community engagement here if you're interested. I'll be posting it up Sunday most likely.

Great post and I really hope you will be able to get the financial freedom!! It wasn't clear to me if you want to accomplish the financial freedom through Steemit or are you exploiting other projects as well ? In your post you tell you're living on the Bahamas, that must be amazing !! would love to go there sometime :D ! live must be pretty expensive there :O Anyway I will follow, upvote and wish you all the best of luck !!

Thank you for the support, you're awesome! Yes, the cost of living is high here. I have yet to reveal my plans :D but multiple sources of income is key, do you agree?

Welcome, and nice introduction. Looking forward to reading your stuff.

I love that meme. I like your thinking it's rare. I have problems saving cash if I have it ssomething always happens to steal it. Always some urgency. So I get some silver here and there. Cause my brain doesn't associate it with money it last longer lol. Plus the extra step makes it harder to cash. Yet I understand regret. That's s good reminder.
