The bargain price of humanity
At breakneck paces
And whirling speeds
Machines take priority
And humans recede
For we are many
A common good
The more there are
Smaller the price
And this dance
Of offer and demand
We keep missteping
Time after time
She hides her bruises
As do we all
For in the jaws of progress
We all get caught
How small the value
And easily we toss
The life of people
Their dreams
And their hopes
