Tuesday Prompt: State
Long time ago, there lived a family. They had a few pennies to go by yet they were happy.They could afford to pay rent,buy food and clothing.
One day, the young girl asked her father a question. She said; "Dad, we don't have much money like other families, yet there is this aura of happiness in our home. Don't you get sad sometimes about not having enough money?"
He replied; "Child, I am in a state of contentment and instead of worrying about wealth that I don't have yet. I choose to live each day filled with happiness while working towards my goal of creating more wealth".
And he went further and said; "If I had more wealth today, I would like to influence more lives positively with it. So you see, when you come across a wealthy person. Don't be quick to envy the person because not all wealth is for the common good of all".
He asked her two questions;"Do you want to be wealthy? why?"

I love his choice, "to live each day with happiness" and to help others if he was wealthy. What a great thing for a Dad to teach his child. : )

I like how you start your post with long time ago :) reminded me of the books i read as a child.
Happiness or wealth? I guess happiness. When you are happy you attract wealth. When you are happy you will find the strength to carry on.

So true, wealth does not make happiness. Envying someone for their possessions is a great way to be miserable no matter how much you have.
