Truth Does Hurt and it is Bitter too!
A cake that is enticing in your eyes but just hollow inside
Or a coffee in a cup in which its black color
Pre-suggests that it has a bitter savor?
Which friend will you prefer
A person who speaks only what is good in your ears
'coz his reason is for you not to have fears
Or someone who speaks the truth regardless of your expectation
But helps you to be better after rendering an observation
Would you like to live in the comfort of a lie
But soon you will sophocate yourself
As you cover a lie with another blanket of a lie
Until reality is gone, with time that passes by.
So, would you choose to live by the truth
Even if it wil cut your pride to half
Truth might drown your confidence
While hearing the laughter of others.
Truth hurts as they say and it is bitter too
Just like a cup of black coffee
Its color and taste are blended in harmony
But the most important values after knowing the truth
Is to accept and live with it until
Love and forgiveness will sprout, to heal your deepest wound!

YES! You got it right @suzprice. it is about getting us all "free" from the bondage of lies that really hurt us.

I know that this isn't at all relevant to the point of your poem, but... coffee doesn't have to be so bitter. If you brew it with cooler water (like 95 degrees Celsius), it doesn't get that bitter taste.
But, I know, not what the poem is about. Still, now you can have better coffee, and that's a metaphor for life!
I fully agree with you @improv . I really appreciate your comment because after i stopped my 5minute timer i know that this poem will be categorized us unfinished as even myself failed to bind the relationship of the benefit of drinking a cup of coffee (no matter how bitter it is or the technique to brew a coffee) to the future postive results of accepting the truth. Honestly, I was even thinking to relate figuratively the different types of coffe in relation to how we can accept the truth and the reality of life in a way that we will enjoy it instead of having a self destruction.
I really hope I can "improv" (e) my skill to pour my thoughts in a 5 minute #freewrite.
