Fresh 5 Writing Contest- Love Waits

The sun had gone behind the fluffy clouds and thrown Anna's usually colourful world into a grey and moody late afternoon. She looked up to the clouds and saw them heavy with rain.
"When it rains, it pours I guess" She whispered silently to herself. She knew that the promise had been made a year ago and he would come for her this lonely Valentine's Day. Seth would be there, holding her tight just like that night a year ago. He cried into her hair as his mouth had sought out her lips for asylum.
"Why do you have to go to Singapore for a year?" She had asked him between his wet hungry kisses. Sadness filled his light brown eyes as he touched her face tenderly.
" I need to end it with them, the brotherhood, It's the only way we can ever be together, it's the only way they will ever leave us alone" He held her even harder, aching to break the embrace " Wait for me Anna, give me one year. I swear I will come back for you and we will disappear forever."
"Alright, one year from today, I will wait for you to come back for me. Seth don't lie to me, don't let me wait in this field forever. I promise to wait for you "
Seth brushed her long brown hair from her eyes and kissed the tip of her nose, " Not a minute after 7, my love I will come. If I do not show up, it means they have taken my heart out and burnt my soul"
"If that is so, I won't want to live any longer " She had said holding on to his cold hands
Anna hugged herself as she lay her head down on the soft grass. Soft droplets began to fall, mixing with her tears as she closed her eyes tight. She had waited a year and now every second that passed made her heart ache and her mind want to explode.
The sound of the town bell rang in the distance, the clouds scurried away with the sun tucked between them. Dark skies crept up slowly to her neck and Anna felt every bit of the cold chill of a world without her love, her heart, her Seth.
As she lay there hidden in the tall grass of the field, she swore that she would wait, wait with her heart held tight, wait with his promises still whispered in her ear. It was the loneliest Valentine's ever, but she sighed, " Love Waits ,I am coming to be with you my darling" She smiles one final sad smile and drinks the small bottle of lethal poison she had brought with her. Slowly the world ceased to be around her. She cries out in joy as she floats towards the light and laughs as Seth takes her silvery soul in his arms. Together they enter the light ,never to look back.
