$50 Vegan Grocery Haul at Bravo Supermarket - For After When I Break My Fast
Hey there, Steemians!
Today, we went to bravo supermarket to pick up some fruit and other food for when I break my fast. I knew that they had cheaper fruit that was usually better quality than other supermarkets I had been to. Also, I knew there was a good chance that they would have a cheap watermelon.
Florida avocados for 99¢! Cheapest I've ever seen in the US.
Only market I've seen with both red and white guavas
From the outside
Everything that we got
Lychee juice, passionfruit juice, panela (brown sugar from Colombia, strawberry juice, coconut ball, maltín malted cane juice, frozen tomate de árbol (tree tomato)!!!! Haven't had that in years!
Frozen blackberry, white and red guavas, Florida avocado, lychees, papaya, watermelon
Mamoncillo (I've never tried this so I'm excited; my wife says it's awesome!)
Tomatoes, Asian (Adulfo I think) mangoes, mamey sapote
Prickly pear fruit (delicious) and some pineapple wafers (this is our little cheat food because it's more processed but it's vegan!)

Was that Malta?! I love Malta. It's an acquired taste, but being Puerto Rican i grew up drinking Malta. It's harder to find unless I go to a spanish store. I usually like Goya Malta or Malta India is the best. My family used to drink it half half with pet milk or canned milk as they say here. I like it with a splash of almond milk! Ay que rico! Nice haul. U got a lot of stuff for a good price. We shop Organic, which makes everything a little more expensive, especially for 8 people. I am so looking forward to starting our own garden!

Yeah. I haven't lived in florida since 2012, but the avocados were amazing, but i really miss the roadside strawberries.
As someone who is new to being a Vegan I enjoyed this, but just wondering how long this would last the two of you? I dont see any nuts or grains in there either?
We've already got rice and pasta at home. :) Also, this stuff is mainly for the few days after I broke the fast.

I don't think anything I bought was organic, but yeah they do sell quality fruit.

Do you not find it difficult shopping for food whilst on your fast?
Difficult in what way? Like I want to eat everything? I basically stayed in the fruit section mostly and tried to pick the best looking fruits I could find. I want to eat them now but I'm going to wait until 4:30 for my chilled watermelon :)
Difficult, like they say you should never go food shopping whilst hungry because you will buy all the wrong foodstuffs. But I guess you had that covered by staying in the fruit section.
Yep, plus I don't usually buy the wrong stuff :) I just overeat on the good stuff but I'm going to break that habit.
