RUBIK'S CUBE-IT CAN BE YOUR NEW HOBBY

in #fun7 years ago

WHAT IS A RUBIK’S CUBE?(for those who don’t know)
Rubik’s cube is 3d combination puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculpture and professor of architecture ERNO RUBIK. It was originally called as Magic cube. On a classic Rubik's Cube, each of the six faces is covered by nine stickers, each of one of six solid colours: white, red, blue, orange, green, and yellow. In currently sold models, white is opposite yellow, blue is opposite green, and orange is opposite red, and the red, white and blue are arranged in that order in a clockwise arrangement (as shown in the above image)
NOW WHY TO CHOOSE IT AS HOBBY?
First and real truth is, it looks cool. When you have a rubiks cube and you solve it in a minute people thought that this guy got some talent. Why because: let’s talk about some numbers
The original 3x3x3 Rubik's cube has 43 252 003 274 489 856 000 combinations, or 43 quintillion. This is an imaginable numbers. Nobody can able solve it without learning algorithms (what the hell is that thing-given below) because then you have to track every move you are making and you are going to make which is not possible for human mind(exception- Sherlock Holmes). That’s why when people see someone solving a rubiks cube they thought even Einstein wouldn’t have able to solve it.
Another reason is, it improves your physical and mental ability
Physical abilities like it improves your reflexes, gives finger dexterity and agility and improves you hand eye coordination.
Mental abilities like problem solving skills, optimization, breaking multiple task into easy steps.

How to solve it?
It can be solved by using algorithms (yeah you had studied it in mathematics. Many students say that what they taught in maths was never applied in real life. Look I found one for you.).
A Rubik's Cube algorithm is an operation on the puzzle which reorients its pieces in a certain way. Simply it teaches you how to move each side of your rubiks cube to solve it completely.
The process consists of many algorithms. One example of algorithm is R U R’ F’ R U R’ U’ R’ F R2 U’ R’ U’
Notations:
F (Front), U (Up), R (Right), B (Back), L (Left), D (Down).
U - a 90-degree clockwise rotation of the upper face U
U' - a 90-degree counterclockwise rotation of the U face U'
U2 - a half turn of the upper face U2
To solve the cube you have to solve:

  1. The white cross
  2. The white corners
  3. The middle layer
  4. The top layer
  5. The yellow corner

THERE IS A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE FROM WHERE I LEARN CUBING a long ago. HERE IT IS

Some people can solve it in 10 sec and some can even solve it blindfoldedly(including me).
There are many best cubers in the world . My favorite is Feliks Zemdeg who recently made a world record of solving a 3x3 cube in 4.73 sec (2nd in the world). HERE IT IS

He even have world records in his name of fastest solving 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, average in 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7
HAPPY CUBING!
