Isn't this also called the 'crazy cat lady' syndrome? As that trope of the old lady with tons of cats who is a bit 'off' was found to be Toxoplasmosis?
And there you have discovered an entirely new angle to this conspiracy. I had not even considered the crazy cat ladies in this, but of course they control many things with their spells and potions.
