RE: 3 reasons why to quit poker (funny video)

in #funny7 years ago (edited)

Your comment is very well structured. Maybe I am wrong. But let’s talk a bit about your points:

1). "If you apply correct bankroll strategy and are a winning player there is no chance you can lose your money."

Replay: I haven't thought about it from the point of view of a professional player! I thought it as a parent.

2). "You can lose your family because of addiction. You can be addicted to gambling, drugs, alcohol, sex, murder. Choosing poker as a profession has nothing to do with these stuffs and its less of a gamble compared to investing in stocks or foreign exchange."

Replay: I am not totally agreeing with you here. I try to believe that you can be addicted of poker the same like you can be addicted in each case you mentioned above.

"Most of us learn from our mistakes."

I've wanted to say to young people that these problems exist and it's much better to learn from mistakes of others.

3). Still, you are talking about alcohol. Poker has nothing to do with this.

Replay: You are totally right. "Poker has nothing to do with alcohol. These are at opposite poles". You are right 100%! I hope every man that will read your text will agree with you.

By the way, when I sit at the computer and write, I like to drink natural juices. I am convinced that you do the same when you play poker at home.

And about playing poker on a slot machine.... That is poker on a slot machine! 😊 Not real, but with the same rules. Tell me please, what is this?

My intention was not to hit into poker players. You make a big mistake if you think that. The intention was to see the serious side of things, which cannot be contradicted. History cannot be contradicted!

At the end of my post I tried to give you something funny, but in conclusion, you did not saw my good intentions…

  1. Well, if your kid is a gambling degenarate, I am sorry for him. But then again I am a small-time winning player with hopes of moving way up after I get my BS diploma. I wouldnt be winning if it wasnt for gamblers that lose to me, so we kinda need them in the game.
  2. If I am playing 5 hour a day and then watch poker related videos another 3 hours am I addicted to poker? Or am I addicted to my profession of choice? A ballet dancer trains 10 hours a day and then goes to the theater to watch a spectacle. Is she/he addicted to ballet? Does that hurt her family?
  3. Was that a pathetic try for sarcasm? No. I am not drinking alcohol when I try to make the best decision every 5-10 seconds. Im not drinking any juices also, thanks for your concern. Perhaps I should but I stick with water.

The first video was a slot. Maybe it was card-related, we cant see. But the guy was pressing buttons with no decision whatsoever. It wasnt that funny but I can see the appeal to some people. But as I understand you are a parent. Do I have to show you a video of a person being born and tell you not to have a child because of that painful-looking video?

The second video is of a slot again... You see that woman pressing a button? Yes, she presses the button, nothing else. She doesnt have and cannot have any strategy, she doesnt play versus someone who can lose. She is destined to lose and that is it. Thats not poker at all. Its a slot machine with some cards that might as well be the words "you win/lose".

About your intentions - what is your profession if you dont mind me asking? Reread your post but replace "poker" with your skill. Doesnt feel that good to read BS about your ways from a person who doesnt know jack about it, does it?

You asked me about what is my profession: I am a quality inspector.

And about your comment, I respect your point of view. I don't have any word to comment against you.
