This probably isn't something you're used to seeing from harryp3, but I'm interested in making quite a few changes for my community moving forward in 2018 - so I thought I'd keep you involved with the various plans that I have...

Even if you aren't following me or haven't been following me for long, this post might be of some use to see what following harryp3 has to offer to you.

I came to Steemit and focused hugely on Sports-related posts; I want that to continue, and it will continue, but I'm going to diversify my posts to include more related to Everyday Life, and my Opinions on various things.

• Rugby Union - DIFFERENT PLAN FOR CURRENT POSTS & NEW CONTEST
  At the beginning of my channel, I was doing Previews AND Round-ups for every Round of the Aviva Premiership - I've realised that for the effort I was putting into it and the rewards I was achieving for those posts, it really wasn't feasible. So from now, I will post a single highly-detailed match report for the game that I believe to be the 'game of the week', and I will then also include a small section of 'Results Elsewhere' and then show the changes to the table. This will also include Rounds in the European Competitions (Challenge Cup & Champions Cup), the Anglo-Welsh Cup and the upcoming Six Nations tournament.

• Road Cycling - PREDICTIONS FOR MAJOR CYCLING EVENTS IN 2018 & DAILY GRAND-TOUR UPDATES
  The future of Road Cycling posts from me will consist mostly of Daily Updates on the 2018 Grand-Tours (i.e. Giro d'Italia, Tour de France & La Vuelta a Espana), but I will also include my predictions for who I think is going to win what in the major tournaments that are occurring in 2018.

• Football - UNFORTUNATELY, NO MORE!
  Football on Steemit is huge. I want to be innovative with creating my own Steemit community, and I'm wanting to go down the more 'Niche' routes and will cease creating any Football-related posts. My reasoning is that by focusing on producing quality Rugby and Cycling posts (the two Sports that I love the most) I'm enabling more people to connect with things that they like on Steemit, giving them the ability to curate and connect with their own hobbies, etc.

• POWERING UP!
  My thoughts on Steemit have hugely changed over the past few months; every reward I achieved from Steemit I would be quick to attempt to suck out of the platform and instantly hold it or use it elsewhere - quite frankly, I had both selfish and stupid tactics on Steemit and that's going to change! From now, a third of my posts will be POWERED UP (meaning that 100% of rewards are invested straight into my Steem Power).

I've also set myself some ambitious Goals for 2018, and I'd love to share them with you to give you transparency with what my Mission on Steemit is!

Reach 1,000 SP by the end of the year
Quite simply, I want to reach one thousand Steem Power by the end of 2018. I want my general influence on the Steemit community to greaten hugely. I think this can be achieved easily, and if I put the right amount of effort into Steemit this year I can make this reality.

Reach 5,000 Followers by the end of the year
Very ambitious and maybe not too realistic, but the route that I'm planning to go down through growing my community (see below) will hopefully increase my following hugely. I want to connect with as many new 'Steemers' as possible in 2018, so will be replying to a lot of Introduce Myself threads.

Become a 'Pioneer' of Rugby Union posts on Steemit
I want to grow Rugby Union on Steemit into the size of other Sports. ANYONE who produces quality Rugby related posts will instantly get resteemed, and anyone producing and connecting with my Rugby posts will automatically get followed. All Rugby posts on Steemit will also recieve an upvote from me (and although it's only worth $0.01 right now, that will be sure to grow in the future). In a couple of years if my influence grows hugely, I will also look to Delegating SP to people who are producing quality Rugby posts.

NEW RUGBY CONTEST!

The most exciting change you'll be seeing on my channel in 2018. Hopefully, there's a market for a prediction contest for Rugby and I'll be setting quite a nice rewards system to attract as many participants as possible!

This is how it'll work;

I'll post up the thread with all the matches for the gameweek on THURSDAY, with matches being played on Friday evening and then throughout the weekend.

You will have to simply pick who you think is going to win - if there's only a small amount of matches you'll also have to pick whether the game is going to be Over/Under a target amount of points (allowing greater variability in predictions).

The tie-breaker selection will be the total points in a game selected by me. For example, say the TB pick was...

Gloucester vs Exeter Chiefs

... and you got a clean sweep on the picks along with another contender, but you chose 40 for the TB and he chose 52. The final result was 32-20 and as your opponent got the TB spot on, then he then wins. If no-one gets the TB spot on, then it's whoever is closest to it.

Whoever wins receives 100% of the SBD produced in the post, and if that isn't above 1 SBD then I will subsidise the winnings to 1 SBD.

To make the contests different, I will also be including a 'Dirty player' selection where you get to chose one player who you think will be sent to the sin bin (i.e. shown a card) in the round.

If your player is shown YELLOW - you'll receive 2 SBD.
If your player is shown RED - you'll receive 4 SBD.

If you share a selection with other contestants, the share will be devised amongst you.
