The new Mega Man X3 All What You Want to Know by Aymenz ( Creative Games )
Hey Friends!
today I have one of my best games it's Mega Man the X3 , I want to give you a review about it and you can watch my video to get more informations about this game , so let's start ..
In video games, there are always series that matter more than the others, only for their publisher, for whom they are particularly important in terms of image. With each new generation of consoles, we find them with the same confidence and sometimes their lot of novelties. This was the case with this Mega Man X, the first part of a series created in parallel to Capcom famous Mega Man saga.

An issue of size : to give a new impetus to the mega man formula
For Capcom, and more specifically for Keiji Inafune (the man who, from the beginning, officiated at the destiny of the franchise), the arrival of the series of "X" on Super NES was a major challenge: to show that the franchise was capable of renewal, and this, after six episodes published on the good old NES (a record ... able to satisfy the many fans of the little blue man, but which also updated one of the big holes of Capcom, namely chain sequels, with the main risk, to the key, to see a lack of innovation or originality). Therefore, even more than the technical aspect (we'll talk later in this test), it was necessary to mark the spirits and surprise the fans.
What was done with the introduction of a new central character (X the Android) and above all, an indispensable element, a scenario in reinforced concrete which puts this time on the front of the stage a more adult universe, more mature in sum, with protagonists having much more depth. Note also that not all bridges are cut with the original series. It was necessary to ensure the filiation of the X series in relation to the classic series, including the evocation in filigree of the character of Professor Light as a "link" between the two. But the time between the two worlds (or backgrounds), a good hundred years, has allowed Capcom to deviate from the usual train of the series. Mega Man X will therefore lay the foundations for a brand new universe, which will be developed in the following episodes.
A RICH SCENARIO, FISHING ... AND DISCREET
Consistent and well done, the scenario of this first opus is unfortunately well explained in the record of the game ... and not during the game itself. Too bad, but it does not detract from its qualities. The pitch is the following. In 2016, Android X is Professor Light's latest creation. It is a robot of a new kind that has the ability to make its own decisions. But aware of the enormous potential - good or bad - of his find, the brave professor plans for X a test period that will last 30 years. To achieve this, he locks the robot in a capsule, to test his circuits safely. Unfortunately, the teacher dies some time later, leaving all his work as it is.
A good hundred years later (in 2118 exactly), Dr. Cain (a type both archaeologist and robot designer) discovered in the ruins of Light's lab the famous capsule. He then takes X and all the work of the deceased teacher with him. With this "documentation" of choice, Cain manages to create Sigma, a perfect reploid based on the system of X, and intended to replace the Mechanoids (basically, the robots "old generation"). The result was so convincing that the Reploids were quickly mass-produced, and coexisted peacefully with humans. Unfortunately, a virus appears and spreads among the population of Reploids: these, once contaminated, quickly become uncontrollable.
The government then set up the "Hunters", an intervention group to channel this new threat and protect the population. Directed by Sigma, we also find X. But while the situation seemed more or less under control, the unthinkable happened: Sigma also succumbs to the effects of the virus! He then takes the lead of the Mavericks (the infected Reploid) and simply wants to destroy the human race. Since Sigma has changed sides, Zero (an enigmatic Reploid) leads the Hunters. The resistance is organized and X intends to play an active role ... Admit that it's not bad as starting point for a game, no?
A GAMEPLAY VERY "MEGA MAN"
It may be said that the series of "X" marks a turning point, or at least gives a new direction to the franchise Capcom, it is clear that the basics of the game system have remained the same. And on the one hand, it's a bit normal, otherwise we would not have to do a Mega Man ... Anyway, if you had the opportunity to play one of the previous episodes, you will easily find your bearings. X will have to get rid of 8 bosses to recover their weapons, knowing that each boss will be vulnerable to one of the weapons held by one of the other bosses. And once the bosses are defeated, our hero will attack the fortress of Sigma, which includes four stages during which he will have the opportunity to face the 8 bosses again (as sub-boss this time) and, for the grand finale, Sigma himself. As for previous games, this game structure will push the player to find the best possible path between the stages to advance most easily in the adventure.
NEWS THAT MAKE FUN
Fortunately for the player, Capcom and his teams have also included new features that will not only increase the appeal of the game in the first game, but will also increase the replay value of the title for the persevering players. First of all, the character of X is evolutionary: with the weapons of the bosses of course, but also at the level of his life gauge and the armor he wears. At the beginning of the game, he will only have half a life gauge and standard "stock" armor. His weapon, the Buster, allows you to shoot several times, but also to "charge" a more powerful shot (just leave the pulled button down). Effective but more than right for the dangers that lie ahead ... That's why you'll have to scramble to explore the levels in every nook and cranny and find the improvements that will lead you to success.
There are 8 core containers (1 to be found per stage), 4 energy sub-tanks or e-tanks (which will fill only when X has a full life gauge) and 4 upgrades for armor (4). to find among the 8 courses). For these, we have the upgrade "helmet" (to destroy cracked walls), the upgrade "armor" (which reduces the damage taken in half), the upgrade "buster" (with him, the buster wins a extra charge, note that it will work after all on all weapons), and finally the upgrade "boots" (which allows X to make dash and jumps longer). Then, for this album, the bosses will now ogle the animal bestiary side. Their names, usually adorned with the suffix "man", are here replaced by names more evocative, or at least more original (Launch Octopus, Spark Mandrill, etc.).
Once defeated, they will give weapons sometimes offering additional skills to X, such as having a shield of protection, being invincible for a short time, etc. Not to mention that coupled with the upgrade "buster", these weapons will have a power and a range more than improved. Small downside though: these weapons are very powerful, but they are linked to a gauge type "ammunition". So it will be a question of not abusing it too much. The operation of the ammunition is modeled on that of the energy sub-tanks: by picking up an ammunition refill item, the weapon used is first refilled, then, if it is fully loaded, it will be the turn of other weapons. Finally, X can also perform a series of new movements that will allow him to get out of all the bad situations. No offense to veterans eager for novelties, X still can not stoop or pull up for example, but it can instead bounce against the walls (thanks to the kick-wall) or, as I said, to make dash thanks to the "boots" upgrade. The maneuverability of the little hero is also very intuitive, with the intervention of 3 buttons of the pad (one for the jump, one for shooting, and one for the dash) and the Start button (to access the menu).
Buttons L and R will switch between the different weapons in its possession, which gives the title gameplay more nervous, more lively than usual. Anyway, the players (regular or not of the series) will be able to apprehend the base of its movements in a small introductory stage, which will serve as a tutorial before arriving at the main screen of selection of the courses. Accessibility seems to have been the watchword of programmers since this first episode stamped "X" is also a "relatively" easy Mega Man. I insist on the "relatively", because some of the bosses are still hard to beat (while remaining "feasible", even if we do not have the appropriate weapon), and the gauges do not fill up as per magic after the loss of a life.
In the same vein, the last level is particularly enigmatic: it is long (but fortunately cut into levels), it "redone" the 8 bosses of the game (and the new), and to top it all Sigma is Balze. But hey, it's a good war. Anyway, a regular in the series will probably have no trouble completing the application quite easily. For others, it's a different story, but the challenge is far from insurmountable. Like what, the stated purpose of Capcom seems here too make his game a little more accessible to common players, and not to make a title only for hardcore players.
A FIRST SPLENDID EPISODE
With its 16Mb all wet and the capabilities of the Super NES, Mega Man X has enough to show the most jaded players. The leg "Mega Man" is present, with a 16bit dress that suits him perfectly. So yes, it may not be the most beautiful game of the console, but the whole is rich and holds the road, with varied and colorful graphic environments (snowy level, a power station, a robotic jungle, a aquatic level ...), visual effects well placed and especially an attention to detail that is nice to see (small bubbles when X swims, steamed when he is in a snowy, etc.). At times, some places may seem quite empty (this is often the case for passages "indoors"), but nothing very serious. The animation is not left out, and the Super NES makes the show from beginning to end, even if we feel that it still has under foot. No slowdown or major bug to be deplored, either on the Japanese or European version of the game. However, the US version seems to suffer from slowdowns as soon as the enemies are too many on the screen. Pretty incomprehensible as a situation, but for once we do not have an "inferior version", we will not complain.
To finish this test, we can not evoke a Mega Man, was it an "X", not to mention the music. They are one of the key elements in the success of the series, and since its debut on the NES, despite the more than modest hardware of the small 8bit. For this first 16bit opus, Capcom has also put the package on the various musical themes of the game. The thread is very rock, even epic at many times, and different melodies are like trotting in the head after a few plays. Short time dead, and good sound throughout the adventure. Side effects, we are still in the classic (but very good bill, I reassure you), with different sound effects that have nothing to do with those of the NES and who obviously benefit from the excellent sound chip of the console.
IN CONCLUSION
Nice debut as X's on the Nintendo 16bit console. The formula "Mega Man" adopts here a more modern approach, with a scenario and a more mature background too. The game system remains, basically, identical to that of previous episodes (we do not sweep a rich legacy of 6 episodes with a backhand of the hand), but the novelties brought by this opus (upgradable capacities, propensity to have to explore the levels to find new capacities / items ...) provide Capcom with a certain interest and a strong replay value. Even the difficulty, significantly revised downwards, allows the game to reach a wider audience, no offense to "hardcore" fans. It is not by chance that Capcom has sold 1.2 million copies of its game.
