Do you ever play Hearthstone, by chance, Damian? I haven't played Magic since high school many many years ago (I'm rather amazed that the game is still going and I wonder if any of my Revised cards are worth any money), but I do try to get in a Hearthstone game or two every day when on the train.
I have done. I didn't really get into it very much. I'm just so obsessed by Magic. I think MTG is still the biggest TCG out there.
You should check out the value of your cards on one of the online stores. You might have a Black Lotus tucked away somewhere.
I doubt I have any Black Lotuses. Even when I was playing the game, there were already going for a fortune. At the time, we all thought Revised had taken out all the fun cards and really hurt the game. I'm sure that wasn't true and now there are probably many cards in there that are unbalanced. Next time I go to my folks house I'll have to check what I have packed up.
Oh, there are plenty of absolute bombs in modern. It's become a turn four format.
If you play games with somewhat controlling decks like the one I used in this you can play a more durdling game.
