We returned to the arcade rooms, this time with one of the funniest classics of yesteryear, the term "street fights" is in all its splendor where we had to eliminate everyone without leaving anyone alive, the great "Captain Commando". Before being a recognized character of a video game, Captain Commando was the mascot of the great company CAPCOM in yesteryear, in some manuals and boxes of this company came this character which had 3 designs, the first one looked like a futuristic warrior that He carried two weapons, the second seemed like a mixture between a warrior and a plane pilot and the last one is the one we know today.

Its name comes from separating the word CAPCOM (CAP-Captain, COM-Commando) into two parts, which is why it was baptized in the past as its official mascot. After a few years, they adapted their sketches to create a unique game in the style of beat 'em up, which would take the gameplay of the great Final Fight but adding unique and innovative features which were taken as a reference for games of other companies, also takes place in the same city where Haggar (Final Fight) was mayor but in the future (According to its history in the year 2026).

My first experience with this Arcade was really satisfactory, I played was the version of 2 players (it was the most common, but there was one of 4 players), although I remember that in order to play it you had to wait a long time because only There was a machine with this game and a lot of people wanted to play it, but it was really worth waiting to enjoy this excellent game, it is simply worth dedicating a small space through this post.

As a good beat 'em up of the Capcom of yesteryear gives you a visual show of excellent quality, each of the characters and enemies have an excellent and very original design, the animations shine on their own, it is a delight to see each one of them the hits running in the game.

The drawings and mapping of the levels are very good, clearly you see the reference to the great Final Fight, they are very different among them giving you a variety that fills you really fun, as you can imagine we will face a boss at the end of each level, at the beginning it will cost us a lot to eliminate them, we must study their patterns which are simple, but their attacks are highly powerful, as we progress their resistance and difficulty increases, sometimes we will face two bosses, this makes the game becomes a good challenge for the video player.

We have the availability to choose between 4 personnel which have totally different fighting characteristics and style, apart from being very original, something that the public gamer loved at that moment, we have the great Captain Commando, as the name implies the captain and leader of the gang, his powers come from his gloves that release electricity and fire, it can be said that he is the most balanced character in strength, speed and endurance, Ginzu who is a ninja carrier of the martial art Bushin ryu Ninpo (the one who used Guy in Final Fight), Mack the Knife an alien who uses bandages like a mummy who uses two knives to develop his attacks, and finally the most charismatic of all, Baby Head which is a baby with brain steroids which manages a robot created by him, his attacks are slow but devastating, they all form the great Team Commando.

This makes the game have excellent playability, has the ability to choose 4 characters that have different types of fight makes it really extensive and fun, we have the typical "Final Fight" type blows but with additional movements that give a little originality to the game, apart we have a multitude of objects to defend ourselves from our enemies, game weapons, giant iron mallets, alien weapons, as a curious fact, the shurikens can only be used by the team ninja, the rest of our allies to grab it will only get a score, additionally there are objects that partially or completely restore our life bar, as well as others that help us increase our score, one of the most remembered is the statue of our legendary mayor Haggar.

Like every Arcade game if difficulty is high, the first level will be "gentle with us" allowing us to experience a bit like eliminating enemies, combos, etc., however, at the second level we can clearly notice how the difficulty increases, sometimes we will burst out of anger for how the bar of life will come down easily, although with a little practice and dedication we will be able to eliminate them all without taking away even one life.

The soundtrack of Captain Commando is one of the most original that I have been able to listen to, each of its levels has a different melody which adapts perfectly to the game style, my favorite is the one that welcomes you to the first level , is the most remembered by many players of yesteryear, the sounds are a delight, every blow, enemy or boss eliminated is heard with excellent quality, just a good job done by the team in charge of the company CAPCOM.

Captain Commando is one of my favorite beat 'em up of yesteryear, has all the features that make it an excellent game both to play it individually and with a companion, also made different ports for different platforms such as the Snes, Psx , Playstation 2, Xbox among others, allowing many people who could not enjoy this excellent Arcade to contemplate it through their homes, it is still a fully playable game which can make you spend a good time of entertainment and fun, simply It was one of the best pieces that CAMPOM could create in its golden age in videogames.
