STEEM Themed RPG: The Isle of Steem: Gameplay Walkthrough - Want to be in the game? Comment! Want to play? Instructions Inside!
Hello Steemians!
I've been making a game. I've taken a short break from making this game, but I thought I'd share what I have produced so far. This game is a labour of love, satire, and hopefully, irresponsible snickering by those familiar with the Steem community and the journey from minnow to redfish to wherever your waves take you.
The premise of the game is such:
Things aren't behaving. Something is wrong with the Block Chain.
Docile creatures are attacking anything that moves.
People scared and confused.
For years, the witnesses have been silent.
The pleas of the common folk remain unanswered. What is the cause of this corruption, and how will the world mend?
Are you the hero that will save Steem?
The demo you see in the video above is playable, right now. You can download the game on GitHub, and play on any Windows PC. There's only about twenty minutes of game play in the game at the moment (and our hero is super-powered, balancing will come later) - but there's plenty of secrets hidden in the game that I haven't touched upon in the video above.
If you want to play, follow these instructions:
- Go to: http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages
- Select RPG Maker VX Ace
- Install this on your computer
- Download the entire folder of the version which you wish to play. The latest version will always be the one with the largest number.
- Put this somewhere on your computer.
- Run Game.Exe to play
Controls:
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move. Enter interacts with opbjects within the world. Escape brings up the menu.
This game remains in pre-pre-pre-pre-Alpha state, and is in ongoing development.

it would be grate if we can log into the game with our posting key, the game can pull posts from steem and let us decide if it deserves an up-vote, down-vote or ignore, and if the game does interact with steem blockchain to register our votes would be great.
playing under our own name, using a game mechanism to find and consume content and even use our steem power for xp would add a whole lots of interest in the game.
Breaks are good :) looking forward to you getting back to it whenever you get back to it :D

Trying to get through Tomb Raider, mountains of real work, and balance the gym all in.

Familiar with that. You don't have kids do you? It's even more fun when you have to balance all their stuff in too XD

Hmm, "Mountains of Real Work", I remember that game. Something like "Temple of Apshai" wasn't it? 😁

Haha! That was brilliant! I love that you got @ryivhnn's upgoats in there. Oh, I must think of something to contribute to this! It'll probably be something to do with #SteemMonsters or the #ContestKings 🦁 guild. I probably won't get the opportunity to play it for a while ... unless you can offer some suggestions for running it on a Linux machine. In the meantime though, if you want to add me to the game, I offer these two Emotiki emoji's from Te Puia Marae's collection. That part means the doom of Steem! Is the story about you saving the witnesses and returning whales to the plarfrom?
Not sure if it's a good idea to describe how to get the RTP with all that detail, but I know some people don't know about RMVXA so a link to rtp would help... Hmmmm... anyway good post.
