Game Review: Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy + Gameplay
I knew the remastered version of Crash Bandicoot were coming out this year but never really payed attention to when, and so the other day as I was roaming through the mall I couldn't stop myself from noticing an entire line where there were supposed to be games were emptied, so I went closer to take a look and to my surprise I found out it were the new Crash Bandicoot game that were all sold out.
When I got home I instantly started my PS4 and downloaded Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy from the playstation store.
What is Crash Bandicoot?
Crash Bandicoot is a platform video game, somewhat alike Super Mario and Sonic. You play a character called Crash who is a marsupial, easily mistaken for a fox, and the story is to save your friend Coco, a fellow marsupial from the evil Dr. Neo Cortex and along the way it requires you to walk through different kind of maps, jumping over various obstacles, running away from giant boulders and using spinning and jumping techniques to defeat enemies and bosses along the way. You also have to collect "whumpa fruits"(Looks like apples), extra lives and protective "aku aku masks" to get yourself through the maps and to get max amount of points you have to smash all the crates you find along the way.Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy includes just as it sounds the three first Crash Bandicoot games, in the video I'm about to show you, I'm only playing the first game which were originally made in 1996 and now remastered with visual upgrades only as far I know.
All the sounds and maps and creatures and simply everything is the same as it were when I was a kid, all my childhood years as I used to play Crash Bandicoot, it's like I'm re-living those days as I'm now playing the same game with better graphics, it's amazing and so nostalgic!
Please no hard feelings, I'm NOT really good at video games, not playing them too often. Anyway please enjoy the Intro/Gameplay
Well it's not an easy game, but I was so happy when I started the game and heard all the sounds were exactly the same as from the original version.
Are there any differences from the original Crash Bandicoot?
The first and absolute biggest change is the visual update, I got two pictures taken from the same spot down below, credits linked under the images.
The second change I noticed is in the Bonus level you get in-game. If I remember correctly from the original Crash Bandicoot you only had one chance to get through the bonus level, if you fell you'd have to continue without getting a second chance to get the boxes in the bonus level. But in the new Crash you get as many attempts as you need to get through the bonus level.
I really enjoyed playing this game back in the days, and I am enjoying it even more today! If you're a 90's kid and used to play Crash Bandicoot back in the days, then I really recommend you getting the game, and why not you who never played CrashBandicoot too!
I had some problems editing the video and uploading the video from my PS4 to my computer, but eventually I got it decently made. The video were edited on ShareFactory, I have never done it before so I had some difficulties... There are a clip from the bonus level and a boss fight in the end of the video if you got bored and never watched it all.
This is where you choose the next map
This review of this game is so wonderful. The graphics and organization.
I have played mario and sonic.. I gonna give this a try
Thanks, I really appreciate it :)
I bet you'll like it, if you enjoy a little challenge.
Sure
One of the most enjoyable games of all time, haven't played this game in so long, almost feels like a memory from a previous life. Sentimental yet sad, that a game like this feels old to me, guess we can't slow down time can we. Need to play this and some NBA Jam!
I couldn't agree more, I didn't know how to express myself when I started the game and heard the sounds, after all these years. The most enjoyable part is that this game isn't easy, there are levels you have to go through so many times before getting all those boxes and gems. Time can be tricky.
Thanks for stopping by!
cool review. I am starting a new series where i feature the best game reviews of the week. can I include yours?
Thanks, I'm really glad you liked it!
Sure thing, you can include it, a shout out is always appreciated :) good luck with your series, sounds like a good idea to me, I'll follow you to see how it goes :)
cool. I will tag you in it when it comes out
Cheers! Good luck :)
'The sound Aku Aku makes is gibberish and was never intended to mean anything. That said, various people on the Crash team interpreted Aku Aku's little noise as lots of funny things, the most common of which was "Rutabaga".' - Dave Baggett Naughty Dog Developer
What do you guys hear it as?
Mine's always been
UGA BUGA!
Haha thanks for the information! I alway heard it as "hultaga" when I was younger. :)
I loved Crash Bandicoot as a kid. All these posts are making want to get a PS4. Grr! I think it was the third game where there were levels where you were riding a polar bear or a tiger that I always thought were fun!
Yeah I remember! It's so amazing re-living those memories :)
Either my reaction times have slowed right, right down with my age, or the remaster is A LOT harder than the original. It looks so nice though. But I would never have thought that it would be Crash Bandicoot that made me ragequit the most out of all the games released in recent years.
I had the same thoughts as I started the game after all these years, in my opinion Crash has always been a challenging game but maybe the remastered version is a bit harder. I honestly think it's okay even though it's a hard game, gives you more challenge and you wont play through the game in a day.
It's a really fun to play game, but I think it has more than a trilogy..
Yes, there are a few more, like crash carting and crash bash, I can't remember more of them. But these three games are the classy ones, the first crash games that came out to follow the story. The first one in particular is my favorite.
Great post, looking forward to playing this soon
Thanks! Much appreciated, it's a great game, still pretty challenging which is nice :)
I used to play 8 hours a day....it was a good time!
Absolutely! I was still young and had my mom watching over me that I wouldn't play those 8 hours a day... :D
when there is an interesting business, games go.
Games are fun every now and then, not too often I find the time to play games any more.
