Obsidian promises no microtransactions in future RPG

in #gaming7 years ago

On their official forum, the popular game developer makes clear that there will not be any lootboxes or other kind of microtransactions in their next RPG that is under development.

One of the major issues of the gaming year has been microtransactions and how they more and more influence gaming. EA was, among other things, in fat fat in connection with the release of Star Wars Battlefront II, which many thought was too addicted to microtransactions.

Perhaps that is why Obsidian Entertainment, the developer of Neverwinter Nights, Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity, already announces that their upcoming RPG title will not contain any kind of microtransactions, nor does the Publisher Private Division attempt to force that kind into the game.

2017 has been a great year for gaming, where at least one masterpiece has been published in almost all game genres, but unfortunately it has also been the year in which microtransactions and lootboxes have been cemented as a fixed part of gaming. In spite of the great resistance, luckily found by both gamers and developers.
