It's true that this is also how I feel about video games. This emptiness is even greater than for series or films, because all along the game, we played a character, we appropriated him, we appropriated his life, his universe. You just have to change the name where there is @ and then you will be able to see who mentions you in the articles but also in the comments (by ticking the box).
