Gaming Retrospective - The Darkness 2

The Darkness 2 is a FPS game with some basic RPG elements that was released in 2012 and was developed by Digital Extremes. Considering the game has comic book roots, you can expect very immersive and interesting story. We play as a don of a mobster family Jackie Estacado who possesses very useful demonic gifts that he is trying to suppress, those gifts are very similar to Spawn suit (both characters are from the same comic book universe). The powers of Darkness will return to Jackie after he gets attacked by the Brotherhood cult trying to steal his powers and will stop at nothing to get them. 

Gameplay in this game is very fun as you can imagine, Jackie can use his Darkness powers that come in shape of two demonic arms that can be used both defensively and offensively. Chopping enemies with demonic arms and filling them with hot lead is the most fun activity in this game, and you can do all that in an excellent cell shaded graphics engine. You are also accompanied by your darkling friend, a strange and smart goblin like creature that will help you get around and amuse you with his antics. For any fan of comic books this could be a game you are looking for, it certainly surprised me with it's interesting story and fun gameplay with awesome execution moves.
