Dark Souls - Painful, Unforgiving and Insanely Fun.

in #gaming8 years ago

Arguably one of the hardest and most frustrating game series has to be Dark Souls, its difficulty is truly not for the faint hearted. Although insanely hard, it is also insanely good fun. Basically Dark Souls I, II and III all follow a similar pattern. You navigate an unforgiving world of death and destruction, fighting your way through forgotten cities, enchanted dark forests and caves full of the most imaginative demonic creatures. For me Dark Souls' success is really down to its epic boss fights, seemingly impossible battles with outrageously powerful giants.. ultra fun. In a nutshell you die, alot.

The games starts with choosing a class, with each different character carrying a different level of experience, presenting unique skills and advantages to the player. I always opted for a character of magic or prayer to offer a ranged insight into battle, this may seem cowardly but many dark souls players will confirm that every health point counts! Blocking and counter attacking can be quite difficult, and enemy attacks always deliver high damage regardless of your level.

Dark Souls may be really hard, but it is also extremely rewarding. Being stuck on a boss for a while and finally killing it is a great feeling, often rewarded with high levels of XP and new unique equipment. All in all you should definitely give it a try!

Class doesn't matter much, you can be a mage even if you are deprived.

Never feel like you accomplish anything in Dark Souls, you just end up feeling relieved you passed whatever section you was stuck on. Brutal game!
