Nintendo at E3 2018 - Expectations and Hopes

in #gaming7 years ago (edited)

E3 is close, and the only stuff I care about is Nintendo games, of course. Because they are great and all. So what can we expect/hope to see?

Metroid

Metroid, one of the greatest series in gaming history. To be honest, i did never play the very first Metroid on the NES. It was the first one, right? Correct me if i am wrong. It all started with Super Metroid on the SNES for me. Right now, we don´t know much, there is just a tiny trailer that does not show anything at all:

They say that it will be first person again, and I have mixed feelings about that. I mean, Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii was amazing and worked great with motion controls. But I am still a bigger fan of good old Super Metroid. They should just create a remake with updated graphics and I would buy it instantly (too). Anyway, I am pretty sure that they will finally show something at E3.

Mario Tennis Aces

Well, that game will be released very soon, so i actually don´t even care about it showing up at at E3. I will buy it anyway, the existing trailers look good and it´s a Nintendo game, so what could go wrong! Here´s a trailer that shows some ingame content already:

Yoshi

There is a video from last year already. Supercute optics, not sure if i want to see another video about it, to be honest. I just want to play it. Here´s the one from last year:

...and maybe something completely new? I do not care much about all the third party games, what i would REALLY love to see is a remake of "Zelda - Four Swords". It would be amazing with 4 players. I would also love to see new additional hardware, something like the "Balance Board" for the Wii would be great.

What would you like to see?

Nice article!
Yeah, I'm especially excited about Metroid Prime 4 myself. That is an incredible series. Weird thing is, though, Retro Studios isn't making it - so what are they working on? Some people have been spreading rumors about a Star Fox racing game.

Mario Tennis Aces is looking way better than I expected. I had become a bit estranged from the sports series, but dang, they made this one fun. Really excited. I wonder if there will be a return for Mario Golf as well?

And yeah, they have been quiet about Yoshi for a while, haven't they? I hope we can get some more details.

As for what I'm hoping for, we're long overdue for a new handheld Zelda, I think! Maybe a continuation of A Link Between Worlds or Spirit Tracks. And to get a bit more niche, I hope we can expect an all new Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi game at this E3 as well.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I am not sure if i want a Star Fox racing game...After Star Fox on the SNES (which was a great game!), it did not really work for me.

Mario Golf, oh my god. I loved playing Golf on the WiiU. And i was pretty good after i started playing Golf in real life :) - and with Mario characters, what could go wrong. Still need to buy Mario Golf for my 3DS, it´s on my wishlist already...

Yeah, I'm not sure either. I think Nintendo isn't sure either, to be honest! They've had difficulty finding a path for that franchise and a lot of games end up being retellings of what happened in Star Fox 64 (or Lylat Wars for Europeans). It makes sense for them to try something fresh, but a racing game... ? Well, we'll see if that's even true at this E3.

Yep, I love the Mario Golf games so much, but I also haven't played the 3DS version yet. I love the victory animations they gave to all the characters, it's clear that personality is an important part of Camelot's games. I hope you get to play it soon!

I would also be exited to see something completely new but I'm also looking forward to more information on the new pokemon game for the switch

I left out Pokemon on purpose, to be honest. I don´t really get the hype around it, but I will definitely try the free "Pokemon Quest" game soon because it looks cool. It´s available already, but I assume you know that :)

I actually haven't heard much about that yet.
I am more looking forward to Lets Go Pikachu / Evoli. In the trailer it looks like there is an actual two player mode for the main game, and a pokemon spin off game were my boyfriend sees no need to steal the controller from me would be awesome :D

i just tried pokemon quest and i love it. maybe i will become a pokemon fan after all, haha.

I would really like a new Rhythm Heaven/Rhythm Tengoku game on Switch. Or maybe a new Warioland! I would REALLY like a new entry/remake of StarTropics, but that's never gonna happen I feel.

In my opinion, they should just take at least half of the NES games and remake them with some better graphics and controls. And then do the same with the SNES games. <3

I like the way you think.

btw, there is one amazing remake: bionic commando rearmed. It really feels like the old NES game, but with modern graphics and a reeeeally good coop mode for 2 players on one screen.

Oh yes, that is definitely one of the very best remakes out there. I also enjoyed Duck Tales Remastered :)

I wish I can go to CES One day! Play all the games I want for 3 days. That will be so cool! Especially games that are going to come out! Heaven! It will be nice to get Mario Party soon and also maybe a RPG with all the Nintendo characters in it like Kingdom Hearts

Would that really be cool? I mean, you can play those games, but then you get home and have to wait until they get released. I would rather just wait until it´s out and then play it like there´s no tomorrow :)
Some new Mario RPG would be amazing. I still love to play all the 3DS Mario RPGs. Multiplayer Mario RPG on the Switch, now that would be incredible!

Me encanta la consola de nintendo, me gustaria poder comprar el switch pero vivo en venezuela y esta muyyyy cara aqui jajaja https://steemit.com/gaming/@chuchoafonso/best-video-games-of-the-nintendo-64

Uh, i forgot something: Monster Hunter! I love it on the Wii/WiiU. Too bad most friends just got it for their (boring) PS4 already, and i guess you cannot play coop between PS4 and Switch...
