PlayStation 2: Most succesfull gaming console ever!
SONY’s PlayStation 2 was launched 4th march, 2000 in Japan, and in the following months worldwide. It was SONY’s card in the battle of gaming consoles of the called sixth generation, competing against Dreamcast (SEGA), Gamecube (Nintendo) and XBOX (Microsoft). Playstation 2 was strong enough to be in the market for 13 long years (was discontinued in 2013). Due to its massive game library (more than ten thousand games), the innovation used to make it and the powerful merchandising strategy used by SONY, were assets more than enough to make this console the most sold ever, with more than 150 MILLION units!
PlayStation2 was very innovative, even if it wasn’t the first console of its generation (SEGA Dreamcast was launched before, and had some of Playstation 2 features included, but its poor merchandising doomed it). Among those features, we could consider these:
• Backwards compatibility with original PlayStation games
• CD music player and DVD movie player
• Online gaming
• Games on DVD format
• Periodical console revisions, grouped in two model families (Fat and Slim)
This is one of my favorite gaming consoles (if not my favorite), and I have gorgeous memories of hours and hours playing awesome games on it (a thing I still do). I want to share with the Steemit community a series of reviews of my favorite games. I own about 100 PlayStation 2 games, and I will make some posts about my favorites. If you want to read a post about a specific title, feel free to ask!

wow this really brings back so many memories of childhood and even part of the teenage years, this is a really great post seriously, the best I've read today, could you make a special about Devil May cry? that was one of my favorite PS2 games, by the way if you have a chance take a look at some of my posts, I just upvoted and followed you.
