Growing dwarf cherries in New Zealand small orchard.
I have grown a new lot of cherry trees 2 dwarf varieties called Stella and Lapins. I have 10 of each variety. They are meant to have up to 5 kg of fruit after 5-7 years, this is the first year they have been in the ground and here is some photos of their progress. I treat them with Sonic Bloom and my Asyra using digital homeopathy to correct any issues. The only real issue was a black cherry worm I think they are called and a dusting of ash from the fire shrivelled them pretty instantly. They are organic and able to be eaten straight from the trees. We had fruit off every tree and only 2 year old at the most trees as they came to us bare rooted winter 2015 and lived in their bags for 10 months before planting at our new property.

They are real cherries just on dwarf root stock, when we shifted I thought it would be ideal growing conditions here and so it seems .Thanks
Beautiful and a yard full to boot. I would love cherry trees, but I live in zone 3. Brrr. Are they a sweet or tart cherry?
They are sweet thanks, not sure where you are in the world. But check as many varieties available. These will grown in bags in fact designed for growing in bags so you might get away with bring them indoors when dormant, they don't weigh much.
I'm in North Dakota USA . 20 miles west of the Minnesota border and 100 miles south of the Canadian border. I do believe there are one or two cherry varieties, but they are more akin to a choke cherry or goose berry then the sort of cherries that are grown in milder climates.
I see you are very cold where you are but sure you will find a newer variety. Your universities have horticulture departments and produce excellent agricultural and horticultural videos as I have watched them.
