Attracting birds into the garden

Birds play an important part in the garden.
They help to fertile the soil, eat aphids and other pests and of course, bring hours of pleasure with their song and antics.

By placing bird feeders of different sizes is a good idea as it allows the small birds to have access to the food and the bigger birds will go to the larger feeders.

A bird bath is a must- especially in summer for the birds to drink and bath.
Place the bird bath in an area where there is not too much foot traffic.

Put out a variety of food - fruit as well as seed to attract different kinds of birds.
Seed mixed with some lard will keep birds happy for hours and is important during winter when food is scarce.
