Before and after garden bed

When I first bought my home, the backyard suffered a lack of a garden bed alongside the house. Having carved out the edge of the bed, I set to work throwing down cardboard and topped it with mulch to suppress the grass.  This cut down on the time I would've spent on hoeing up the area, and it added some quick curb appeal.

 Now I just need to find some attractive plantings for this side.
