Full steam ahead. My gardening has begun. Giving my garden a smoothy.
I have started my bin today. With being disabled and finding a lot of things difficult I have to try and make things as easy as possible. Thankfully I have a hubby to do all the heavy lifting but need to help his back so I bought a big black bin to store all my soil for planting, means all i have to do is lift a lid then take out what's needed.
I Have been thinking about ways of putting nutrients into the soil so decided to save all my waste food but instead of putting it in whole I have decided to blend the food down then add it to the soil then it will break down a lot quicker.
Here's Hubby filling the bin whilst I drop. the mixture in on different levels. This will work its way through the soil easier. I had to add water as it was to thick.
I am going too leave it a few days to work through then give it a stir. Then I can start filling my plastic pots and start sowing my first lot of seeds.
Thank you son-of-satire
Thank you @artedellavita
That's actually brilliant of you... It will be great nutrition for your plants etc... You smart! Good luck with your gardening... And happy weekend Karen 👍
Thank you, I am hoping it works :)
Of course it will and I believe... Like you do it it will be more easy for you plans to eat it... Or how I can say it.. Anyway brilliant thinking 🎯
Thank you :)
That's such an inventive idea! I hope you don't mind if i steal it for my own garden? :)
Your more than welcome :)
That should make for some really good planting soil once it matures; we've been recycling kitchen scraps for many years, and it definitely adds a lot of nutrients to the soil.
Happy growing!
Thank you, Fingers crossed it works :)
I've never heard of this procedure before but I guess it's more efficient than the use of fertilizers. I think it's definitely worth trying. And also, do you keep the bin closed or opened after storing the soil in it ?
Its just something I have been thinking over, making it easier to break down. Keep the lid closed then stir every couple of days :)
That's quite a smoothy for the bin! Should work well to give the added nutrients. I think it always better for organic than chemical.
Lets hope the plants enjoy it :)
good gardening @ karenb54,
hopefully his plants grow fast and produce good results,
By the way, you are very creative in gardening and can process your own fertilizer, it is very profitable in gardening, thanks.
I have everything crossed, Thank you :)
Accompany someone in distress is much more valuable than a hundred people who accompany you in happiness.
What a great idea! You will have super plants :)
I wasn't sure it if was a stupid idea, fingers crossed it works :)
Soil smoothies! I'm sure your topsoil will be begging for more. :)
Just hope it works and doesn't just make a mess :)
Oh I see you didn't vote, was it that bad lol :)
good luck!
