My name is Basudev Saha, Founder & CEO of Plantaeroot, an initiative dedicated to bringing people closer to nature through plants and gardening.

My Journey with Nature
My journey with nature began long before Plantaeroot existed.
I started my career at the age of 24, and today, at the age of 70, I have witnessed how dramatically our lifestyle has changed. In my childhood, life was deeply connected with nature. We used to enjoy the smell of soil after rain, feel the cool breeze in the evenings, and see dew drops on leaves early in the morning.
Those simple experiences created a natural bond between people and the environment.
But today, modern life has taken us far away from those moments.
Many young people grow up surrounded by concrete buildings, air-conditioned rooms, and digital screens. Few have experienced the calming scent of rain on dry soil, known as petrichor, or the quiet joy of watching a plant grow.
Why I Started Plantaeroot
After retirement, I realized something important.
If people are drifting away from nature, perhaps plants can bring nature back into their homes.
That idea led to the birth of Plantaeroot — a platform dedicated to helping people reconnect with greenery.
Our goal is simple:
