An Epic Spread of Sustainable Feasts in the Garden of Eden

in #gardenofeden7 years ago

Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!

There are so many layers of the epic feasts we share beyond just pretty food on a plate, and we hope to bring awareness to the deeper, more profound meanings of our meals.

We feast every single day without disposables, chemicals, or taxation! Every single day, there is more than enough sustainable, honorable, delicious, nutritious food for everyone! We prepare it all over fire, either in the rocket stoves we built by hand from dirt in our sustainable outdoor kitchen, or on our indoor wood burning stove when it gets bitterly cold out. We burn "trash" wood and therefore create a system for feeding ourselves independent of the multinational gas, electric, and petroleum megacorps/"make-a-corpse" that do not align with our values.

It is our honor and pleasure to live solutions to the problems we see, and we know that a better way is possible!

Today's sustainable feast for our team of full-time volunteers and residents with nowhere else to go will be a delicious smattering of high vibe leftovers.

Check out some of the epic, super sustainable, yummy, and healthy meals we have shared over just the last few weeks:

Pan fried tilapia with an orange ginger relish (check out the food formula here!), garden salad, mashed potatoes, and sautéed greens

Eclectic sustainable leftovers feast with garden salad, pizza, roasted chicken, sautéed mushrooms and onions, and mediterranean frittata with pesto and roasted tomatoes

Boneless herbed pork chops, fresh salad, steam sweet potatoes, and sautéed veggies with parmesan cheese

Roasted turkey, fresh salad, not one but TWO kinds of mashed potatoes (check out the vegan food formula here!), and a vegetable medley

We had a sandwich feast - this one has uncured pastrami, hummus, lettuce, and homemade kimchi on whole wheat bread

Fresh garden salad, lasagna, pizza, feta swirl puff pastry, macaroni and cheese, thai chicken noodles, and spicy sweet and sour chicken

falafel and tahini cream sauce, cucumber and spinach dip, and 2 kinds of curry over basmati rice

Fried chicken, garden salad, spiced squash, cinnamony sweet potatoes, and homemade kimchi

Spiral sliced honey ham, fresh garden salad, chicken and vegetable soup, spaghetti squash, and steamed potatoes

Garden salad, spicy meat and veggie fillings, rice, beans, garnishes, condiments, and a selection of wraps for making tacos, burritos, or quesadillas

Epic salad spread

And it's all FREE!!!

We are happy & grateful to share our abundance - there's more than enough of everything! If you or anyone you know wants or needs food, contact us - we will give you free food, no questions asked. We make this offer every single day, because we are here to help one and all.

We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is one of our rocket stoves in action - we built it by hand out of dirt.

Food is an honored & elemental part of our daily life in community. You can learn more about our unique, intimate, and super sustainable relationship with food here!

Photos are original to our epic feasts and highlight just a taste of the thousands upon thousands of free meals we share every single year.

So much yummy food to share!!!

Oh yeah, super yum healthy sustainable feasts !

My my! This is simply awesome, yummy, varieties of food to feed the hungry and the less privilege. This is epic. Where are you situated?

We're in Arlington, Texas.

I can truly imagine your love for cooking feasts . You do it great n with the great honour you present it to steemians, although it is already known , everyone will like the freshly cooked vegs , which is the purest form of gaining nutrients ..your photos are always mouth watering..

One of the beautiful things about living in a community like ours is that yes, someone really loves to prepare beautiful food (and all of us love to eat beautiful, nutritious, delicious, sustainable food!), but other people love to garden, or build things, or build websites, etc. There is a place and an opportunity for everyone to engage their passions every single day! No one has to do things they don't like doing, but we all get the benefit of a vast and shared set of different skills!

Your concept is very nice. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

You're welcome, we hope to inspire!

I will love to share a meal with you, I'm impressed by your creativity.

We love to share food!

I am feeling hungry, I will try it your work is appereciateable for the community keep sharing

I really like the idea and support that of cooking firewood, because doing this we save energy and we can take advantage of the wonders that our mother nature offers us, and I do not know but I am one of those who think that cooked food has a truly unique taste that yes. All the dishes are spectacular, I would like to try them all, they are colorful, good final presentation, without a doubt they look with these dishes. Exelent photos of each platom were taken from a perfect angle. thanks @gardenofeden

Thank you @alejo1996!
Yes we enjoy cooking over fire, and we don't even cut down trees for fuel - we use wood that was already discarded and forsaken and we give it new value.
We consider every aspect of food preparation (and in fact every aspect of life) to make a better, more beautiful, more meaningful world for ALL!

The food was delicious. whether it is high in cholesterol?

Hahaha, we don't worry about cholesterol - it's necessary for building cell walls.
We find that putting all kinds of rules and limitations on "heatlhy" vs. "unhealthy" food leads to a level of stress, guilt, and shame that make eating far less beneficial than it needs to be.
To eat sustainable food in peace is much better for mind, body, and soul than eating what someone else tells us is good for us but we don't really want and makes us feel stress.
Humans have some misguided understandings of what makes full, thriving health...

Wising garden of Eden and join once of your delicious and epic food feast... Is definitely on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing 🙏

What a beautiful feast, the photos look spectacular, the variety of the dishes impresses me, maybe because of the hunger and the needs that we are experiencing in my country, the one that stole my attention was the sandwich with that rich bread made by you. I would like very much to be able to visit them, to try that exquisite delicacies. Thanks for sharing the day to day of that community so organized @ gardenofeden

We wish we could be everywhere to help more people - humans have gotten themselves into a terrible situation, and people all over the world need lots of help.
Grateful for your support @perlanacarada ~ would be honored to host an epic feast for you & your people one day!

guao, what a good comment, friend, here what we see is people eating from garbage, being a country so rich, the rulers have led us to misery.gracias@gardenofeden
