Shadows/Sombras

There are times when we feel that standing in front of a camera lens is heavy and unnecessary. Days when we are not provoked to show our face, or to pretend some gesture that pleases the receiver. But there is always a choice we can make, and that is to capture the figures of our shadow.

Hay momentos en que sentimos que pararnos ante el lente de una cámara es pesado e innecesario. Días en que no nos provoca exhibir nuestro rostro, o fingir algún gesto que agrade al receptor. Pero siempre hay una opción que podemos dar a relucir, y esa es captar las figuras de nuestra sombra.

With our shadow we don't need to pretend, we just need to let our movements flow and capture the essence in every shot.

Con nuestra sombra no tenemos la necesidad de fingir, solo debemos dejar que nuestros movimientos fluyan y captar la esencia en cada toma.

Something that is interesting to photograph, is the part(s) that you feel most comfortable with in your body, because the more secure you feel about the object to be photographed, the better and more organic the shot will be. In my case, I chose to capture the shadow of my legs and there was one in particular that I liked, and it's the one I'll share with you next.

Algo que es interesante fotografiar, es la(s) parte(s) con la que te sientas más cómoda de tu cuerpo, porque mientras más seguro te sientas del objeto a fotografiar, mejor y más orgánica saldrá la toma. En mi caso, elegí captar la sombra de mis piernas y hubo una en particular que me gustó, y es la que compartiré con ustedes a continuación.
