Our Friend Myra
A life fully lived reaping praise, pride and poise
Self reliant and sure of her goals
No regrets as to how the hours were spent,
She now caters to outsider souls.
She may send a suggestive tone of disdain,
When a job is performed below par,
But she shouts her acclaim for all to hear
If she considers another a star.
Her kind acts are both generous and wise
I have watched her give time, hope and cheer
And cause a happy countenance to reign
Atop a soul bedeviled by fear.
A friend is so worthy of our admiration and love
It’s enough to just have someone there
But a friend who tries to understand our needs
Is a friend who really does care.
