Assalamu alaikum my steetimian friends,

Welcome to my new blog.

I usually go to the market once a week to shop. I especially go to the market in the morning. Because at that time, every food is available in the market at its freshest. But at this time, most people come to the market. Due to which a lot of noise is created inside the market in various ways. Everyone is busy buying things like everyone else. Most of the shopkeepers are busy decorating their shops beautifully, even bringing things inside the shops. And through all this, different noises are created constantly.

Market

These sounds always come to our ears in different ways. But we do not understand this. We think that there is a lot of noise. But to understand what all the noise is, we have to stand quietly in one place for some time in the market. And if we stand quietly in one place, then we will hear many different sounds in the market. For example, the sound of shopkeepers calling customers to sell their goods is the most heard in every market. They always call customers in different ways to sell their goods.

Buying and selling is in progress.

A market is a place with noise. There is a lot of noise all the time. There is a lot of discussion about the price of the buyer and the seller all the time. These things are heard a lot. The buyers bargain a lot. These sounds are heard a lot. After buying the goods, when they are put in the bag, there is a distinct clinking sound. Although this sound is small, it is always heard. A small sound in the market is the clinking sound of the bag. And there is also a lot of noise of people walking here and there in the market. The sounds may be quiet, but the sound of everyone walking together is much louder.

The sounds of shopkeepers talking to customers, and even when shopkeepers talk to each other, create a lot of noise. When suddenly, items are put on the weighing machine, there is a different sound. When items are moved from one side to another, there is also a lot of noise. When customers go from one shop to another and haggle, there is also a lot of noise. Not everyone can buy from one shop, so they go to other shops again and again. Also, when a customer comes to stand in front of the shop, the shopkeepers tell them various things about the products in their shop.

All these things also create a lot of noise. And suddenly the sound of a rickshaw comes to our ears. Again, the sound of the horns of big buses and trucks can be heard from a distance. Most of the time, the sound of rickshaws is heard. Because many rickshaws come with buyers to take the goods from the market. There is also noise when the baskets of goods are carried here and there. And when there is a lot of crowd in a shop, there is even more noise. Because everyone tries to talk to the shopkeeper to buy goods. But in a market, noise is created through many means.

Busy market

The laughter and crying of children accompanying the buyers can also be heard occasionally. And these sounds divert everyone's attention. I will say this in the end, a market is a place with sounds. Where many sounds are constantly created. These sounds take different forms each time, but these sounds are always there. These sounds help the most in completely bringing a market to life. Otherwise, the market will no longer feel like a market. So these sounds always help to keep the market alive. Because these sounds are the main lifeblood of the market.

Thank you for your participation in Geo-Quest Mystery – Week 2: The Sound Map. Here is an evaluation of the post by @nhriyad, following the official Week 2 rubric for Geo-Quest Mystery.

Evaluation Summary

CriteriaScoreComments
1. SteemAtlas Pin & Sound Description1.45 / 2.0The SteemAtlas pin is included with coordinates, plus Google Maps and plus code. The post describes a clear “public market” setting and mentions multiple sound sources (vendor calls, bargaining, bag clink, footsteps, rickshaws, horns, weighing scale, baskets). To reach full points, add a clear place name label (market name) in the pin/title and give 2–3 signature sounds that make this market distinct from other markets (for example: a specific call phrase, a unique tool sound, or a nearby landmark sound).
2. Creativity of Mission & Hidden Sound Challenge0.55 / 2.0The market is a correct sound-rich choice and the writing is sound-focused. However, the required Hidden Sound Challenge is not clearly present: there are no three hidden sound clues written as hints for others to guess. Most sounds are listed directly. To score higher, hide three sounds (metaphor/hints) and explicitly invite readers to guess them after watching.
3. Speem.watch Proof Video (20–60 seconds, focus on sound)2.05 / 2.5A Speem.watch link and IPFS/stream video are provided, which satisfies the proof requirement. The theme matches (market ambience). To reach full points, include a brief “standing still” segment so layers separate clearly (calls vs footsteps vs bags vs distant horns), and avoid fast camera movement so the audio remains stable.
4. Storytelling Quality1.80 / 2.5The narrative explains why you go, what you notice, and how silence helps separate sounds. The writing is coherent but stays quite general and repetitive. To score higher, add a sharper “one-minute listening” structure (loudest sound, smallest sound, repeating rhythm, surprise sound) with a few vivid micro-details from your exact visit.
5. Engagement (Listening / Guessing others)0.70 / 1.0Engagement credit is given because you confirmed the author commented on other participations. To get full points, engagement should see explicit sound guesses / clue attempts on at least two other entries (naming 3 sounds per post and explaining why).

Final Score: 6.55 / 10

Remarks:
This is a valid Sound Map entry with correct SteemAtlas + Speem.watch proof and a realistic market soundscape. The biggest improvements to reach a high score are: (1) add a proper Hidden Sound Challenge with three hidden sound clues, and (2) strengthen storytelling by turning the sound description into a clear “one-minute listening” scene with specific details unique to this market.

Geo-Quest Mystery Jury

The noise of the market is annoying to everyone, but we have nothing to do. Even then, we have to go to the market constantly.
