RE: The year my family stopped doing Christmas

in #getyerlearnon7 years ago (edited)

I wasn't raised in a family where we could exchange gifts. I lost my mum at 15 and my stepfather at 25. They hadn't instilled the Christmas traditions in us but we (me and my two sisters and our children) chose to hang out together other than send each other gifts as we couldn't afford to. I dream of hiking together (we don't have snow ever :p) but this year, we just sat at my sister's rooftop and enjoyed a sunset ♡

Happy holidays to you and yours :)

yeah, it is easier for me to avoid being not in the west. It is all encompassing for the most part back there. I don't miss it. Sorry to hear about your tragic past :(

It's all good, thanks! We are made of our pasts... :)
