The glory Solomon: He ruled over all the kings from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. 2 Chronicles 9:26
The Second Book of Chronicles details, with fewer details than the First Book of Kings, what the reign of Solomon was like. The Second Book of Chronicles recounts the fundamental historical events that marked this reign, but it does not recount, for example, that Solomon allowed the pagan cults of his foreign wives, nor the prophecy about the division of his kingdom. Nevertheless, the Second Book of Chronicles is a book that allows the readers of the Bible to glimpse a fundamental spiritual teaching: peace, prosperity, and well-being are fruits of the wisdom of those who govern a country. Thus fulfilling an ancient teaching: "Wisdom exalts her children and helps those who seek her" Ben Sira 4:11.
While some events recounted in the Bible about King Solomon are debatable, since not all of his actions were pleasing to God, what can be stated with certainty—and the Second Book of Chronicles makes this clear—is that King Solomon was a ruler who, with great common sense and intelligence, knew how to address the political and economic problems of his time and build an unparalleled empire upon the small kingdom left to him by his father David. This is why the Book of Chronicles gives a brief description of his empire: "He ruled over all the kings from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt" 2 Chronicles 9:26.
The Kingdom of Israel reached its greatest era of glory and splendor under King Solomon, something that was never repeated, Solomon was not a tyrant but a monarch in the truest sense, a government that sought not only the good of the king himself but also the common good of all citizens of the kingdom, this is why the Second Book of Chronicles adds something more about this mythical king: "All the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind" 2 Chronicles 9:23. Wisdom greatly enriched and gave prestige to Solomon, to such an extent that his economic and military power was joined by the spiritual power over the other rulers of the earth who accepted that his authority came from God.
