Bible wisdom: There is treasure in the house of the godly, but the earnings of the wicked bring trouble. Proverbs 15:6

The Bible, in its sapiential books, teaches men that beatitude and misfortune come from the invisible order established by the Lord. The Psalm 1, the Psalm of the Two Ways, explains this spiritual truth with these wise words:
"For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction" Psalm 1:6.
Many thinkers wonder why God, in his omnipotence, allows evil, but this question is not correct. The sapiential books also explain that good and evil, in a certain sense, stem from humanity's freedom to be edifying or destructive. And according to the ethical laws of the universe, when humanity builds up, men receive blessings; but when they are destructive, chaotic, and unjust, they receive curses. This is why the Book of Proverbs teaches with wisdom: "There is treasure in the house of the godly, but the earnings of the wicked bring trouble" Proverbs 15:6.
There is treasure in the house of those who fear God, the Book of Proverbs tells men, but treasure does not mean money; treasure means that in the company of wise men, everything that makes life harmonious, pleasant, and livable is present. And this bears some resemblance to another quote from the Book of Proverbs: "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm" Proverbs 13:20. It can be concluded, then, that we should seek with great determination the company of those who fear God if we want to be happy.
And the teaching of the Book of Proverbs ends with a warning, man's problems are mostly related with the lack of wisdom to live. Intense, fleeting desires, self-love, and passions such as envy and hatred do not lead to anything beautiful or harmonious. The spiritual order established by God must then be recognized, and it is up to the most intelligent men, as were Solomon, David, and Isaiah, to teach its existence, with the purpose to order the lives of men and society.
