How do you buy precious metals beginners guide

This little blog is for people who have never bought precious metals and want to start purchasing. There are many different places where you can buy precious metals and i will get into a few, so that it’s a little bit easier for you to understand. So let’s go right into it.

A lot of people who for the first time learn about gold and silver, have no idea where to buy it from. When i started collecting / stacking precious metals over a year ago, i was one of these people. The first thing you need to know is that it's actually very easy to do. There are a lot of companies that sell precious metals were you can order from and ordering from them is as easy as ordering a pizza. I will provide some links to reliable companies at the bottom of this blog.

Then you have something that’s called a secondary market, where you also can buy your precious metals from. To give you an example, EBay is one of the largest auction websites on our planet and you can find there a lot of gold and silver for sale. I won’t go too much into the secondary market, because I feel as a “newbie” you don’t want to get involved here, while you still learning about precious metals. I will talk more about EBay in a different blog.

Before I give you a list of dealers who I found reliable to buy gold and silver from, let me tell you about some differences you will find between companies.

The first difference you will find is that, not every coin or bar has the same price. For example if we take the best known coin on the face of the earth “The American Eagle” you will find that each company has its own price. Even if you have a coin from the same year, you are going to find differences in price. That’s why it’s recommended that you shop around and find the best deal that’s out there.

The second difference is that some companies charge shipping fee on all orders and some companies don’t. You need to consider this before you place an order. If you are a US citizen, most of the time you won’t have to pay any shipping fee, if you order more than 100$ worth of gold and/or silver, but when you live in Europe, then there is almost no way to avoid these extra costs.

People who live in the United Kingdom have to pay additional VAT on top of that. When you cannot avoid paying shipping fee, then it might be smart to save your fiat and place a larger order when you have more funds. This way you don’t need to pay shipping fee every time you order those beautiful coins.
