I thought shithead Cheney (or maybe it was Rumsfeld) said something like $5 Trillion was unaccounted for in the DOD budget. Oh wait, the aforementioned E&Y audit was only for one agency within the DOD behemoth. Got it (does that mean we are not supposed to care about the rest of the missing loot?)

Anyhow, sounds like a distraction to me. Basically, create the illusion of accountability by spending a shit-ton more money to find money that is long gone and for which nobody will be held accountable for. Just another waste of time and money.

Yeah, closing most of the bases abroad would be a great way to save money (oh, and as a bonus, lives too).
