Hottest Temperatures on the Planet but Forget the Record & Snow Cold Please

The story, “Kuwait with 52.3 degrees Celsius was the hottest day in the world” has been quickly picked up and headlined around the world; but this is a misleading headline, because although there is some truth to it, the way it was phrased made it seemed like it is the hottest temperature that has ever been recorded on the planet.

Please take note that this is Kuwait; the desert-oasis economic capital.

As of today, the same repeating headline stories about the hottest place on the planet have flooded the mainstream media again. First was India at 51 degrees Celsius; and then they moved to Kuwait the day after. Kuwait may last longer in the headline because it was at 52.2 degrees Celsius.

If you, however, look at the climate history in the Kuwait Meteorological Department (KMD), the highest maximum temperature measured in that same area, Mitribah, is 54 degrees Celsius. So, what they claimed to be the hottest temperature is nearly 2 degrees Celsius lower; thus, it is not a record. But it is still making a story because it does make a good headline.

Steve Malloy is also calling out the Washington Post for this. Why was it hotter 76 years ago, when CO2 levels were lower by 100 ppm? Maybe it is time to consider analyzing repeating cycles. But they even put this graphic with that green spot, to indicate dangerous hot areas.

With all the stories circulating around the web regarding the hottest temperature on the planet, I tried finding some of them for review. I have to applaud Snopes for doing some actual fact checking and reported that on July 1913, a temperature of 56.7 degrees Celsius was recorded. This is, as of the moment, the hottest temperature ever recorded on the planet. Though, in other publications, they claimed that the hottest temperature that was ever recorded on Earth was 54 degrees Celsius in June 2017.

I think for this; they only checked the satellite record. They did not go back to the 1930’s Dust Bowl Era, or back to the turn of the 20th century, when temperatures were indeed hotter because like I said, this is how cycles work.

The funniest of them all has to be from Wikipedia. “If the 1913 record were to be decertified, the highest temperature would be the Kuwait record of 54°C in 2016”. Why would that record in 1913 be decertified? Why is it so difficult to recognize that 1913 holds the record for the hottest temperature?

Think about how absurd it would be to say that an Olympic record set in 1913 if it was decertified, then the runner from today would be in first place. So why would such a thing be even written?

The agenda continues with maybe a participation trophy, since sports is being talked about. The Washington Post said that if confirmed, it could be the 4th hottest temperature measured on Earth. They should also write about the 5th, 6th, 7th, or even the 20th hottest temperate, and put them up as headlines. Maybe that way, they could have more clicks, because they are losing readership.

Moving on to some weather reports, Friends of Science pinged me on this tweet. What nugget of information can we get from this?

First of all, this is the global mean temperature from 1850 to 2006, a 156 year segment of temperature data. The temperature was only 0.32C above the baseline in May 2019, so these temperature charts are still accurate. As shown, there is no global warming, but a pause.

How scary is that flat line shown on the left chart? The only time I would be scared of a flat line like that is, if it is in a hospital room and I am looking at somebody’s heart monitor. When you see a temperature record like this, it means it has barely moved. So, where is the scare? Why are we bothered by global taxes? Why are they limiting the economy, or our lifestyle as to what we can consume and what type of life we can live, when all these are based on falsehoods?

Additionally, while they are set on promoting global warming, the corporate media missed Alberta’s snow in June 10th, which is unimaginable. Look at how much snow fell on June 10th. Multiple videos from the Toronto and the Ontario News but no news organizations in the U.S ran this story though. If this was however, a tenth of a degree over, breaking a heat record, it would be a global headline.

More news about record cold and snow on June 12th were missed by the corporate media as well. They have completely ignored that while one side of the world is hot, the other side is “extremely cold”.

Recall that Kuwait has not broken a record but these places however have either tied or broken multiple all-time low temperature records in Idaho and Wyoming at the same time. This doubles the amount for Kuwait, because they had zero new temperature records.

Then there were three more in Pocatello, Burley, Stanley, and Idaho Falls on June 9th. So, the score of cold vs. hot tallies 5 to 0.

If you check out the low temperatures in Wyoming, 4 foot snowdrifts were recorded. What could this mean? June 11th should be summertime.

Moreover, there are additional new record lows as well in Buffalo, Casper, Greybull, Lander and in Worland. Now, the cold vs. hot score tallies 11 to 0 from Kuwait.

Then there are still two more in different locations in Minnesota with all-time record cold in June 17th, making the final tally to be 13 cold records set to zero for Kuwait so how did the corporate media miss all those?

Maybe because they cannot promote a global carbon tax when record cold temperatures and record snows are being broken in the middle of June. It is summer after all.
