I'm grateful to God for a warm house!
We woke up to about 6 - 8" of snow on the ground. It looked beautiful glistening in the sunshine. I thought how nice it is to be inside where it's warm.
If you make the mistake of trying to walk in the snow with your shoes on, you're going to have very wet and cold socks. I have to shovel a path to get next door.
On day like today, Chai Tea is extra special.
It's a great day for chai tea: cinnamon, cloves, fresh ginger, peppercorns, star anise, cardamon seeds, honey and black tea.
We make a Chai concentrate which we use to make hot tea with milk. It's a delicious treat for after shoveling the snow.
My wife and I were thinking about how precious it is to have these exotic spices in our home. This was almost unthinkable 100 years ago. Hardly any of these ingredients grow where we live, they must have traveled miles and miles to ultimately land here in our house. What an amazing time we live in.
Thank you Father for the Blessings of a warm and comfortable house and the luxuries we enjoy.
May we never take these things for granted. We enjoy luxuries our fathers and grandfathers couldn't even imagine. What an amazing time to be alive.

Really cool that you have so many of those things for your tea. I am not sure I've heard or seen half of them before. ;) I, however, am not a tea drinker. I don't like anything that's a hot drink. That is a lot of snow. Looks so pretty! Thanks for sharing the pics. Stay warm!!
Chai tea spices are very exotic. I was just marveling with my wife about how special it is to have access to spices like star anise and cardamon. I'm pretty sure wars have been fought over these spices. @ironshield
That is probably true! So crazy. Do you order them online?
We have a lot of Chaldean stores in the area where we live, we got some of the spices from an Iraqi bulk food store, some from our local grocery.
Oh nice! That would be convenient to have near you! I'm betting here in Panama those would have to be imported and would thus require payment of an arm and leg. ;)
I live in Michigan and woke up to about 8 inches of snow too. Plus a (-1) temp. Thanking God for a warm house also!

Im a little jealous of your white winter! Hope to get some in my neck of the woods soon. Glad you were prepared for it and actually had a shovel on hand. I think we all wait to the last minute here because if we get them and sleds in advance it never snows.... until march.... for a couple hours! I should work on being more thankful for what we have! Thanks for sharing, that tea looks ah-mazing!!
It was beautiful to look at, that's for sure. Suiting up and manually shoveling it... my back was a little unhappy about the situation. But it's done and boy was that hot tea a treat! @ironshield
No measurable snow yet here in Central IL, but it is cold! I too am grateful for a warm house!
