I am of the firm belief that the habit of practicing gratitude on a daily basis is the key to shifting our lives in a positive direction. This is not only the expression of gratitude for the positive things in our lives, but also for the challenges which we are often faced with.

But sometimes, we can get wrapped up in our day to day existence and agenda, and it is not that we aren’t grateful, but rather that we simply forget to actually verbalise it or take the time to offer it a moment of dedication even in thought.

It is also true that surrounding yourself with the positive attitudes and mind-set of others, that it has a ripple effect on yours too…

Welcome to the #GratitudeTrain No. 5

......

So for ALL of us, including myself, I have decided to start this #gratitudetrain. We all spend a good portion of our lives here browsing through our Steemit feeds, so why not build a positive habit in the process. I think it will be great to share something every day that we are grateful for in our lives, no matter how big or small it may be.

Whether it is a new career path, a new hobby, an achievement of your child, a new relationship, a challenge overcome or simply a new pair of shoes… it doesn’t matter! There is without question… ALWAYS something we can take a moment to be grateful for!

GratitudeTrain #5 -

Today I am grateful for the many things I have in my life that SO many other people don't. The fact that I have a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in tonight, a warm plate of food, a table to enjoy the food at and people to share it with, blankets to sleep under, and all the other "general" stuff that we seem to overlook on a day to day basis. It is approaching Winter here in Cape Town, and today has been pretty wet all round. It breaks my heart to see all the people who have to live in the elements... sleeping under cardboard boxes, with nothing but what they managed to scrape out of a dustbin to eat. "WE" are all VERY blessed and we overlook this aspect of it - most days...and we shouldn't

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

......

Step 1.

So starting today, in the comments section of #gratitudetrain post No. 1 – write something that you are grateful for in your life and start it with the number… as in if this is the first time you are sharing on the #gratitudetrain, then write the number “1.” And then state what you are grateful for.

Step 2.

Keep a record of your #gratitudetrain expressions shared in the comments somewhere in a word doc or such.

Step 3.

When you reach 30 – then publish a post on your own profile and be sure to use the #gratitudetrain tag or to tag me @jaynie in the post.

As simple as that!

The idea of this being, that not only will you develop a healthy and positive habit but at the end of 30 days when you share your own post, you will be able to reflect back and realise, just how MUCH GOODNESS there is in your life!

I am Grateful for my good friend, my male companion who is able to listen to my troubles and offer up encouraging words. We have been buddies for 21 years now, the history we share is rich with vivid memories, bursting with joyful laughter. How lucky am I to have found this friend.

I'm so grateful I came across this post by @jaynie.

I was surfing steemit randomly when I stumbled on this post ( #gratitudetrain).
After reading it I found out that yup, this is actually something I would love to do.
So this is my first #gratitudetrain comment

Thanks @jaynie for this initiative

It was very pleasant to read... I go and read one more time :)

3. I am grateful for wifi!! 😂 Honestly though, how amazing is technology! It gives us the wonderful gift of communication which allows us to stay in touch with those (near or far) we love and care for! Pure greatness! 🌞💞 #gratitudetrain

Yes, the act of Gratitude will make our life easy for sure because most of the time people try to go hard towards their life and they start blaming themselves or people who are close to their life who are around them, this makes our life tough unnecessarily. So, we have to understand one thing that we will going to face ups and downs so enjoy the good, and in tough time showcase gratitude towards your life and learn from the phase. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

Thank you so much @jaynie for your amazing job and post about #gratitudetrain.

#2: Today I'm grateful for my mom. She's the best woman I've ever known because she sacrificed plenty of her life for providing my brother and me the best things she could give us. I can enjoy her presence, smile and advices, that's why I'm so grateful with Life for it.

#3: I'm also grateful today for my brother. I was about to lose him in an accident 6 years ago, but life gave him a second chance that is being well used. I couldn't live without his joy, strength and support.

About your #gratitudetrain, I'm totally agree with you. We're so fortunate for having things other people can't have =D
