Although I leave the wallet open 24/7, I do see 3 other disadvantages:
- The wallet consumes CPU cycles and memory which means less resources for science projects (especially if you have a moderate system)
- Unfortunatelly we need to regularly confirm whether the wallet is on a fork, if so the wallet needs to be restarted (extra work)
- Due to frequent updates, the wallet needs to be restarted and thus can't remain running in the background for a long period of time without supervision (again extra work)
I especially "like" the surrounding chatter for that pic ;-)
