I will take another look then. I missed that you're also doing science-related stuff and not just crypto (which doesn't interest me as much as it should.)
gridcoin is a crypto that rewards "miners" for the their participation on boinc which has a lot of scientific projects studying disease, cancer, astronomy, chemistry, math, etc.
