It's not at all, I am not sure what kind of blueing they use, but it's worthless. I've worked on a few 870s that had a lot of surface rust from finger prints.
I left my 1187 in the trunk overnight once and it was a mess.
I bet, this is the worst one I have worked on. Nothing I could do for it, except blast it and seal it.
luckily It was not that pitted!
When my buddy gave me that, I just looked at him a laughed.
