LESSON #9 PRODUCTION OF HAIR SHAMPOO

PRODUCTION TOOLS
- hand glove
- face mask
- wooden sticks with flat head
- bowl to contain the required quantity
- smaller bowls for additional mixture
PRODUCTION CHEMICALS REQUIRED FOR THE PRODUCTION OF HAIR SHAMPOO
- Nitrosol
- Soda Ash
- Sulphonic Acid
- Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS)
- STPP
- Menthol Crystal
- Glycerine
- Colorant
- Fragrance
- Preservative
PROPORTION OF CHEMICALS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF TEN LITRES OF HAIR SHAMPOO
- Nitrosol ....................................... 1/8 kg
- Soda Ash .......................................1/4 kg
- Sulphonic Acid ................................ 1/2 Litre
- Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) .. 1/8 kg
- Sodium Tripoly Phosphate (STPP) ....1/8 kg
- Menthol Crystal ............................... 1 T- Spoon
- Glycerine ..................... 50 ml
- Colorant ...............................................To taste
- Fragrance ..............................................To taste
- Preservative .......................................1 table spoon
- Water .................................................10 Litres
PRODUCTION PROCEDURE FOR HAIR SHAMPOO
- Dissolve Nitrosol in water and follow the steps below immediately
- Dissolve Soda Ash in separate container(container 2) with water
- Dissolve SLS in container 2 above
- turn in Sulphonic Acid in container 2 above
- Dissolve STPP in container 2 above , turn the content into the main container
- Dissolve Menthol Crystal and Glycerine together and turn into the main container
- use little water to dissolve the colourant and preservative and turn into the container
- Add preservative
- Stir the mixture properly until fully blended
- Allow the bubbles or foam on surface to disappeared before packaging for use or sales
