Hard Fork Series Winners (and My Thoughts)

in #hardforkseries8 years ago (edited)

Alright, so first prize went to a fellow called @gmuxx for his story "iSee: Pact With the Digital Devil," and I can see why (or at least why he was in the top three). His futuristic tale brims with insight into how a technology saturated 2029 would look. I feel like I'm subjected to enough advertising now, but this brilliant, almost comedic, prophesy reveals how it will likely get a lot worse.

The second place winner, who, in my opinion, could be argued to have won first, was @rhondak with her gruesome tale entitled "Impact," that puts you in the middle of what terrorism looks like in a world detached from 2001. The ending may be nearly hauntingly gory, but the social commentary on the police force of then, drawing awful and violent parallels to the police force now, was stunningly thoughtful and worth deliberating over.

The third place winner went to a story that I didn't give much thought to. @creatr wrote the final one called "Justed." I unfortunately had a hard time keeping up with it, either a) because I'm unfamiliar with quite a bit, referring to cryptocurrency, or b) because it didn't keep me very engaged.

Thank you for reading, and a big thank you to all the writers that participated!!
