La Perouse Bay and Hawaiian Monk Seal
La Perouse Bay, an area at the bottom of South Maui just below Wailea-Makena area.
It's a protected area for it's historical connection to Ancient Hawaiians as well as the sea farer La Perouse who the bay is named after.
This bay is known to have lots of swimming dolphins, although the day I went didn't have them there.
The endangered species, Hawaiian monk seals are protected and monitored to keep people away from disturbing from their natural habitat.
