How To Protect Yourself During Cold Season

in #health9 years ago (edited)

It's now fall my friends and with the fall season comes new sicknesses. Protect yourself from the common cold and flu using these helpful tips. This article was inspired by Everyday Health.Com with some of my own tips to prevent them.

1. Always wear a coat when walking out the door.

Coats help to keep the cold air off of your body. Remember when you were small and your mother told you never to leave the house without a coat because you would get sick? This is actually a true fact. Make sure that you are staying as warm as possible to prevent any kind of flu virus.

2. Always wash your hands after you touch a public surface.

Hand washing is also another common practice. Hand washing can kill the germs before the germs get to you. Its always great to wash your hands after cooking, eating, or touching public surfaces.

3. Drink plenty of fluids.

Drinking fluids are a common practice to keeping away the colds and flus. Make sure you are getting plenty of them. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Staying hydrated is very important.

4. If you start sneezing, coughing, wheezing, vomiting, or experiencing nausea consult your doctor as soon as possible.

If you show any signs or symptoms of the flu or cold, make sure you consult your local doctor. Doctors can get you the medicine and help that you need in order to feel well.

5. Make sure to get your flu shot.

Getting vaccinated is very important. Vaccines help prevent the spreading and receiving of the flu, that's why that flu shot is so important.

I hope that these helpful tips help you stay safe and flu free this season!
