The food we eat everyday is very important for our health, both mental and physical. Most of us only pay attention to the taste and tend to neglect the health benefits or side effects of food we consume. Sadly, this can have a major impact on our lives as unhealthy foods are said to impact us negatively in several ways.

Here are some of the few effects of eating unhealthy foods:

Physical Appearance

Our body is what we care about the most. However, getting our body in shape can be next to impossible if we continue to consume unhealthy foods daily. What we call living large or living big is sadly the major cause most illness today

If you think working out and burning calories is enough to help you lose weight, then you’re doing nothing but living in lala land.
The truth is that you will have to burn more calories than you consume if you really wish to lose weight, and this is not possible unless you stop consuming unhealthy foods and start consuming food of great health value to our body

Obesity is largely caused by the food we consume, in addition to being healthy. When we eat foods that are rich in vitamins and proteins, our brain cells get stronger and we feel energetic all the time. On the other hand, unhealthy foods make us feel fatigued and tired all the time.

In addition to this, our mood also changes with the food we consume. Many studies have shown that having unhealthy meals add to stress and depression, causing us to have mood swings as well. This is largely because these foods do not contain fiber, which heals in the secretion of serotonin that helps keep our mood under control.

Diseases

A diet which is not healthy disturbs the balance of our body and makes us vulnerable to various dangerous diseases such as heart diseases, diabetes and cancer too. Foods which have excess sugar in them can raise your insulin levels, fluctuate it and probably make you vulnerable to diabetes. Similarly, foods which have high amounts of salt can also lead to diseases such as high blood pressure, which is a cause of several other diseases including cardiac issues.

If you are a foodie and often eat out then you should know that junk food contains toxins which harms your body. Our liver and heart can get weaker because they have to overwork to release these toxins and keep regulating our body.

In addition to this, it is also said that not eating fresh food can cause you to fall sick. You do not know what kind of ingredients are used at places you eat out, which is why you should always make your own meals that are healthy and fresh.

In conclusion

Make sure that you lessen the consumption of junk food and all other types of foods which are lacking the basic elements like protein, vitamins and minerals and when you do so, you’ll experience a change in your health as well your mood.
