Chain reaction after insect bite, Sonja loses both legs and an arm
It began on March 17, when she put out the garbage at her work. An insect stabbed her in the arm. "I quickly felt a bump and then I felt dizzy and got cold". Then she felt pain in her limbs. A colleague called an ambulance.

A doctor on the emergency service sent Sonja back home after a survey.
After that, Sonja was getting worse. The arms and legs of Sonja were dying. She ended up in a coma. By accident, she had a streptococcal infection and then a blood poisoning through the insect bite. "The doctor told me afterwards that it could have been a simple mosquito that had transferred the bacteria," said Sonja.
The legs and left forearm of the woman could not be saved. To survive these limbs had to be amputated. Even though the shock was huge for Sonja, she was in her destiny. "I quickly accepted it and thought," Hey, I'm still alive."
By bringing her story to publicity, she hopes to warn others for insect bites that are not always innocent.
